I hung out with my friend Dan today for several hours. I really wanted to go to the Mission because I love wandering down Valencia and popping into little stores, and it had been a while since I'd done that. So, after I went to his house for bagels, scrambled eggs, and super strong delicious coffee, we drove our motorcycles to Valencia and 15th and parked.
It was a sunny day, with a little briskness in the air, but so clear and sparkling. We just walked and explored. Saw beautiful things at Little Otsu and The Candy Store (where I saw artwork by Lisa). We bumped into Suzi and Mark and girls at the 826 Valencia pirate store. India was rooting gleefully through drawers filled with rubber mice, eyeballs, and compasses. They recently adopted a new baby, sweet Zarah Rae, who has an awesome Godmother (me!)
After fantastic quesadillas at Papalote, we bought some stuff in Buffalo Exchange and then parted ways back at our bikes. I rode home feeling very much in love with this city. I don't think I could ever get tired of it.
Eric is in Portland now, another city I love. I join him next Wednesday for Thanksgiving with Amy and Randy.
Life is good right now! Here are some paintings I've been doing this week:
