I actually did some painting last night. I don't know why it's taking me so long to get back into it. One inspiration I have for building up a body of work is Lisa Congdon of Bird in the Hand. She has an art show coming up at Edo Salon on Haight Street (details here, scroll down), and she seems to be making art constantly, despite the fact that she has a full-time job, which is often my excuse for not painting. Lisa aptly demonstrates that that's no excuse.
I'm curious how one goes about getting a show. I suppose actually creating art is the first step, and having some way of showing your art to prospective galleries. A CD with images would be the easiest and cheapest to produce.
I would love to do a show, so I'm putting it out there as a goal.
