Masked men and one woman rather (I indicate gender by lipstick).
I made a little chart with 200 boxes on it and every time I complete a painting I fill one in (with a #2 pencil of course). Let's see how close I get to 200 paintings by open studios (the third weekend of October).
I just spent a lovely afternoon in the Haight, first, getting my hair highlighted and cut at Bladerunners (dreadful errant apostrophe in the first sentence on their Web site. It's my pet peeve. See? That's the correct use of "it's").
My hair is now shoulder length and I feel like a rock star - a cross between Pat Benatar and Shane from The L Word. OK, they have shorter hair, but I can't go shorter than this or I will be a puff-ball.
After my haircut, I spent some time in the new, bigger Giant Robot on Shrader Street (they moved to a larger space next door). I purchased some very inspiring books. I got two issues of the periodical, Art Prostitute, (which has a slick but awful Web site with mystery meat navigation). They are lavishly produced and gorgeously designed, with interviews, beautiful images, gallery news, and more.
I also got this awesome book. It's a design handbook with lots of hip, readymade ideas for Web sites, business cards, packaging, and more. It's really tremendously cool. I actually got two copies because I know just who I'm going to give one to for her birthday.
Happy Memorial Day. Isn't a three-day weekend just glorious?
Really interesting-what is the meaning behind the masked faces(no pun intended)? =)
